RIP Dave Nichol. Only met him once – and briefly at that- but he was a towering figure in Retail strategy. In the late 1970′s, a time At a time when many Canadian retailers were strategically bereft- Valdis, Miracle Food Mart, A&P/ Dominion, BiWay, Grafton Group, etc- Dave Nicol took the lead in moving Loblaqws form a same-as retailer to one that took chances in bold new directions. Canad’s first major retailer to embrace multiple control brands including those with a true unique identity- the legacy continues with PC organic, Decadent, Memories of, Blue Menu,
